Carmela Denise Shepard Burton

On October 1, 1974, in Sylacauga, Alabama, Carmela Denise Shepard Burton was
born to the union of the late Deacon Otis Shepard, and Yvonne Moor Shepard.
She departed this life peacefully in her home on Tuesday January 9, 2024.
Carmela confessed hope in Christ and joined the Shiloh Missionary Baptist
Church. She served as the Church Announcing Clerk and enjoyed singing in the
choir. Carmela later joined the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church where she
served as the Facebook Social Media Ministry.

After graduating from B B Comer High School, Carmela attended Alabama State
University. She was a member of the Voices of Praise Gospel Choir.
Carmela married Rodregas Tywon Burton in June 2000.

She started her career in Montgomery, Alabama. She was employed with United
Parcel Services for twenty-four years as an AODC Clerk until her health failed.

Carmela is preceded in death by her father, Deacon Otis Shepard; sibling: David
Gardner; Grandparents, Charlie and Bessie Corbin Shepard, Lewis, Estelle Moore,
Great Aunt Sallie Corbin
She is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, Rodregas Tywon Burton, and
her mother Yvonne Moore Shepard of Sylacauga, Al, Brother, Antonio Shepard
Atlanta, Georga, and Aunt Lollie ( Russell) Foster.
