Obituary
Rodney Gene “Rock” Harvey , son of the late Eddie and Annie Harvey, was born August
26, 1965, in Sylacauga, Alabama.
Mr. Harvey accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and became a loyal and
active member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Young Adult
Chior and the Male Choir. Mr. Harvey graduated from Childersburg High School. He later
attended the ARC of Talladega County. He enjoyed his ARC family and friends and had a
special relationship with all of his teachers.
Mr. Harvey was loved by many in the community. He often referred to himself as the Mayor
of Overbrook. He enjoyed riding his golf cart to collect cans. He also enjoyed listening to the
Canton Spirituals and would often sing karaoke to their music.
Mr. Harvey completed his journey of exuberant life and selfless love on Monday, February 19,
2024. He was met at the pearly gates by his parents, grandparents and a host of other relatives.
Mr. Harvey leaves his loving memories to be cherished by: his two brothers, Kenneth (Debra)

McNeal; nephews, Kennth Harvey, Terrance (Sequita) McNeal, Isaiah Smith and Amare Harvey,
, a host of other family members
