Our Humble Beginnings
Many years ago, French Novelist Anatole France, an inspired author, wrote, “To accomplish great things, one must dream as well as act." In retrospect, these words seem totally appropriate when reflecting on the beginning history of Sunset Memorial Chapel, Inc.
Brother Jimmy L. A. Odum & Brother Richard Trask, Jr. are pleased to announce that a lifelong dream has become a reality. These two gentlemen, all formally of Madden's Funeral Service, are now owners and operators of Sunset Memorial Chapel, Inc. They are both well known in the area for their professional services in the funeral industry. Richard Trask Jr. have completed his funeral training and is a licensed funeral director. Sunset is very eager to serve you when the need arises.
Just to help you know them better, and realize how qualified they are, please note the following credentials of these men.
Brother Jimmy L. A. Odum, a 1994 graduate of Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service in Atlanta, GA. hold an associate degree in Mortuary Science. He completed his training under the late Simon T. "S. T." Madden.
Brother Richard Trask, Jr., a 1986 graduate of Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service in Atlanta, GA. holds associate degree in Mortuary Science. He completed his training under the late Eugene Ervin of Ervin Funeral Chapel in Anniston most recently Mr. Trask managed Madden's Funeral Service from July 2001 - August 2005.
